I love having Apple Compote for breakfast, served as a topping for my porridge, mixed in a plain yoghurt or sometimes spread on a toast. Depending on the variety of apple you decide to use you will get different flavours, different nuances, some are sweeter and juicy , other slightly tangy and super crunchy. I am always adding some cinnamon to it, they are a match made in heaven!
“An apple a day keeps the doctor away”, studies have shown that:
– They are rich in antioxidants reducing the risk of developing cardiovascular disease and certain cancer.
– Rich in fibre, consuming apples help lowering bad cholesterol levels.
– Rich in fibre and low in calories, it helps in controlling your weight as fibre makes us feel fuller for longer.
Among many other benefits! … and they are so easy to carry with you anywhere you go … 😊

Peel the apples, core and slice them. Place in a large saucepan on a low heat with the orange juice and the cinnamon.
